Eric Haase
Attorney & Founder · Haase Law PLLC
Eric leads Haase Law, the Pittsboro personal injury and workers’ compensation firm he founded after more than three decades representing injured people across North Carolina and Georgia. He has handled thousands of cases against some of the country’s most powerful insurance companies — auto and motorcycle collisions, workplace injuries, and premises liability — and he built his own firm around a simple promise: no legalese, just a regular guy helping regular people.
A Buffalo, New York native, Eric came south to earn his B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990, then returned home for his J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 1993. He was admitted to the Georgia bar that year and the North Carolina bar in 1998, and is also admitted before the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
For nearly 23 years Eric practiced at James Scott Farrin, one of North Carolina’s largest plaintiff firms, where he represented thousands of injured clients and served as class counsel in In re Black Farmers Discrimination Litigation, also called Pigford II — the case brought for some 58,000 Black farmers. It ended in a $1.25 billion settlement — one of the largest civil-rights class actions in American history. Two decades on the other side of the table from insurance adjusters and defense lawyers taught him exactly how carriers evaluate, delay, and defend claims — knowledge he now puts to work for his clients.
“After almost twenty-three years at a big firm, I could have stayed comfortable. But I kept coming back to the same idea: the people who need a lawyer most usually end up talking to a system instead of a lawyer. I opened Haase Law so that when you call, you get me — a regular guy who won’t talk down to you, and won’t confuse you with legalese.”
Today, from his office on East Street in downtown Pittsboro, Eric represents clients across Chatham County and Central North Carolina in auto and motorcycle accidents and workers’ compensation claims, always on the same terms: free consultation and no attorney fees unless we win. When a case calls for additional firepower, he taps a trusted network of proven attorneys across the country and remains engaged in every case.
